Founder and Program Manager - Ta’afi Initiative
Ta’afi is a victims’ lead, victims’ centered initiative that aims to
support survivors of detention and victims of torture in Syria to
resume the defense of their human rights, in the pursuit of justice
and accountability toward a democratic Syria. Ta’afi advocates for
fighting impunity and demanding justice, supported by a network
of 120 survivors that feed into its programming and advocacy
efforts.
My role:
• Set the program’s strategic plan every 3 years, as well as
revisiting and refocusing annually; oversee the plan’s
implementation.
• Develop program’s policies and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee the overall program’s implementation and ensure that
activities are delivered on time and within the budget limits.
• Determine proposals’ concepts by identifying opportunities
and victims’ needs.
• Write Ta’afi proposals and strive to secure funding.
• Plan and implement advocacy campaigns alongside Ta’afi team

I was detained for three years in Syria due to my peaceful activism, this experience gave me the chance to examine my belief in non-violence, and give the energy and motive to continue fighting for human rights and democratic Syria.
